A Study Session Using the “Butterfly iQ3™” Was Held at Okayama University

Southwood Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture; President: Kenya Kusunose), an authorized distributor, hosted a study session using the portable ultrasound imaging device “Butterfly iQ3™,” manufactured by Butterfly Network, Inc. (USA). The session, organized by the Regional Medical Personnel Development Program, was held at Okayama University on January 17, 2026. Physicians, residents, and students involved in regional healthcare participated in hands-on training designed for practical clinical application.

The Regional Healthcare Personnel Development Course is an endowed program established by Okayama Prefecture within Okayama University’s Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The program conducts various activities aimed at alleviating physician shortages in the region

The workshop focused on training for major scan areas, such as the heart and abdomen, through simulated clinical scenarios. Participants operated the “Butterfly iQ3™” themselves and gained hands-on experience acquiring ultrasound images.



Southwood will continue collaborating with medical and educational institutions nationwide to expand the utilization of the Butterfly iQ3™.
